Individual & Couples Therapy - NYC & Connecticut
Caroline Reid Thompson
For more than thirty-five years, I have worked as a psychotherapist in NYC with individuals on a variety of issues: depression, anxiety, and panic attacks; with family and relationship issues: with identity, self-esteem and career issues; as well as with problems related to child abuse and chemical dependency. Each person is a unique individual whom I will come to know well, as we work together to address and resolve conflicts and problems.

Since 2002, I have worked in both New York and Connecticut with children and their parents. I find it rewarding to help parents sort through the questions, dilemmas, doubts and emotions that accompany raising children and to be able to offer them concrete suggestions as well as a plan to help the children make the necessary changes.

I have a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City. I was a teacher for twenty years. This experience is invaluable in my work with children. I received my psychoanalytic training at The National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP), also in New York. I am a licensed Psychoanalyst in the State of New York and am a Training Analyst for candidates for psychoanalytic training at NPAP.
